Ready, Set, Goal: Reorganize Your Closet

declutter-your-life

After a long, cold winter, we are so ready for spring. The winter has left you itching for some warm, sunny days. Just think of that first beautiful day of spring when you don’t have to wear a jacket, and you spend the whole day outside just enjoying the weather. Pretty nice, huh? However, your morale isn’t the only thing that took a beating this winter. Check out your closet. By this time, it is probably a little messy, a little chaotic, and most likely, a little gloomy. Now is the perfect time to reorganize your closet because once those warm days are here, you definitely don’t want your closet to reflect any previous winter blues. So let’s get going with this week’s Ready, Set, Goal, and get those closets clean and organized for spring.

Reorganize Your Closet by…using the proper tools.

Reorganizing your closet can seem overwhelming and impossible if you are not armed with the necessary instruments to do so. So, help yourself! One simple thing such as hangers coated with felt rather than plastic, can make a huge difference in your closet. Imagine a place where tops always stay put on hangers and there isn’t a pile of off-the-shoulder tops piled up at the bottom of your closet. Well friends, I’m telling you, this is possible. Be sure to check out all of the other helpful items we’ve included, for example, a scarf organizer, hooks, and linen spray.

Reorganize Your Closet by…being kind to yourself.

Picture this. You’re running late, you can’t find anything to wear, you’re throwing clothes everywhere, you’re getting frustrated and you ultimately rush out of the house leaving your closet looking like a volcano just erupted. We’ve all been there. A trick to stopping this madness is to remind yourself of how amazing you are and how good you look in your clothes. Put some inspirational wall art in or around your closet to ensure that you are telling yourself everyday that you are beautiful just the way you are in anything and everything you wear.

Reorganize Your Closet by…color coding.

Although at first you may find color coding tedious, it is actually super helpful and looks really pretty. Color coding your closet will allow you to find any article of clothing faster and with less of a mess. Also, because it looks so nice and organized, it will inspire you to keep it up and put things in their proper places instead of just throwing them anywhere.

So what are you waiting for? Ready, Set, Goal.
