Preventing Split Ends

Split ends are one of those pesky things we all have to deal with from time to time. While they can not only be damaging to your hair if you don’t look after them, they are not all that pretty to look at. Never fear! I’m here to fill you with hope that, while we may not be able to always avoid split ends, we can help prevent them!

Get a Trim

One of the very best things you can do for your hair is getting it trimmed regularly. This removes split ends, and keeps hair healthy.

Use Heat Protectant

I think we all know that heat causes our hair a lot of damage, and that damage looks an awful lot like split ends. I’m the kind of girl who loves her curling iron, so my hair is subject to a lot of heat. From personal experience I know it would be hard to give up styling our hair using heat so a good alternative is just to make sure we use heat protectant and give our hair a few days off from time to time.

Apply a Mask to Your Hair

Ideally, hair experts recommend using a mask at least once a week, but we all don’t have the time to do that, so every once in a while will have to do. Masks are a great way to restore moisture back into your hair and banish those split ends! Not only are masks great at preventing split ends, but they also leave your hair with that soft, shiny, salon-like smoothness we all love!

Those are just three simple and easy ways to help prevent split ends and get us one step closer to that Pinterest board worthy hair we all lust after! Which method will you be trying first?
