How to Make the Most of Your Winter Break

You deserve to rest after your final exams, so winter break is a welcome time to relax.  But after a week or two, it may start to get boring.  If you want to make the most of your winter break – follow these tips!

1. Catch up on current events

When you are in school, it is easy to get trapped in a bubble and be oblivious to everything happening in the world.  Now that you have some time off, use it to read up on the news.  You can start by looking through Spire & Co’s current affairs section!

2. Look into your upcoming classes

I know school is probably the last thing you want to think about during your vacation, but it is not a bad idea to prepare for your upcoming classes.  See if any of your teachers have posted the syllabus or textbook information.  This is also a good time to scan a class for any red flags.  Plus, if a class was full when you registered then a seat may have opened up over break!

3. Start spring cleaning early

You have some time to clean out your closet before you head back to school.  This means literally cleaning your room, but also cleansing for your mental health.  Reexamine your friendships and see if you need to cut out any toxic people from your life.  You want to start the new year off fresh, so what better way to do so than clean out all the trash and negativity from your life?

4. Make some resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions are a great way to start the new year off fresh.  Think about what you liked about the last year and what you would like to improve on.  Follow this great guide to follow your goals.

5. Catch up with family

Who knows when you will get a chance to relax with your family again?  Enjoy it!
