Hello fellow smart girls! Hope everyone is having a good start to what we all hope to be a warm and sunny Spring! I am writing again with another great book review just in case you need to take some relaxing time for yourself and kick back with a good book. In Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver, we see the story of Grace, a bright observant girl who has forever watched the lives of the wolves who live just behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf in particular, creates a chilling presence she can’t seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam who is a passionate and torn boy, has lived two lives throughout his existence. One in winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl, while in summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a eerily familiar yellow-eyed boy who steals her breath away. It’s the wolf she has been so entranced by. It has to be. But as winter nears, bringing threats of cold and shivers, Sam must fight to stay human–or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever. This book is about finding out exactly what you stand for, and what challenges love can overcome. The book is part of a three part series that follows the difficult path between these two star-crossed lovers. It is the perfect book to curl up on the couch with just when you finish some particularly trying homework.
