Five Fabulous Ideas To Kick Off Your Summer

You’ve been counting down the days- and summer’s finally here! YAY! Summer is the perfect time to relax and do things you didn’t have the time for during the school year. Here are five things you must absolutely do this summer:

1. Make a craft you pinned on Pinterest.

DIY projects are the best. Take one day and seriously commit yourself to making that craft come to life. Painted canvas? Check.  Homemade candle? Check.  Adorable pearl adorned letters? Check. The possibilities are truly endless!

2. Have an ice cream party.

It’s undeniably hot outside and the perfect time for a delicious ice cream cone. Head to your local grocery store and pick up a few flavors ( and don’t forget the rainbow sprinkles and toppings)! Then have your friends over for a fun treat. Be sure to take pictures of your instagram-worthy creations.

3. Read a book.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald... I cannot recommend this book highly enough. The plot is interesting, but it is almost secondary. The writing is just so lyrical, so beautiful. It is almost like poetry. ❤❦♪♫

Head to Barnes and Noble, and pick something new or completely unexpected. The best deals are always in the bargain book/coffee table section. Scoop up something that interests you, then head to the pool/beach book in hand. Read at your own pace, and enjoy not having to annotate or prepare for a Socratic seminar.

4. Master a new hairstyle.

braid into bun.

It’s way too warm and humid not to pull your hair back some days. Rock that polished pulled back look! You’ll thank yourself later if you take the time to learn a cute braid now.

5. Challenge yourself with summer goals.

You have a whole summer ahead of you. Make a cute “Summer Goals” list for your bulletin board. Your goals can be small or big. Just make them fun and make them your own! Plus, at the end of summer, you’ll have fun seeing all the things you’ve accomplished!
