College. The best four years of your life, so they say. But what are you supposed to do when those years are over? Graduation is looming and you have so many things to think about. Here are some, to help you gather your thoughts.
You’ve been in college for a minute studying something. So now it is time to consider what employment you can find in this particular field. Even more than that, you need to consider what kind of job you would enjoy working in. A job is a big part of your daily life and that means that you shouldn’t pick something that makes you miserable. Look up jobs you’re interested in and set up email alerts.
2. Your New Home
Okay, so you’ve thought about what job you would like. Now we have to think about where we would like to look for this job. Do you want to stay local? Do you want to move far, far away? Sites like Zumper can help you find apartments to rent and settle down in.
This is your life and your next few decisions will rely heavily on what is close to your heart. If you want to stay with your partner, you have to consider them as well. If being close to your family is a big deal, picking a new place close to them will be a better bet for you.
Staring down the barrel of post-grad life can be a daunting thing. And it is going to require a number of tough conversations and big decisions. Be honest about what you really want and what will make you the happiest version of yourself. That is how you are going to rock post-grad life.
Personally, I would like to stay close to my college town while I wait for my partner to graduate. I have set a limit about how far I will move away, 2 hours, and have started looking for jobs and apartments in the surrounding areas. I have put up job alerts on LinkedIn and WayUp. Even though I graduate in May, I am starting to do this now because I want to make sure that I am slowly keeping my level of anxiety down. Going post-grad is a big deal. Here I come real world.
