It’s already mid-September and autumn is just around the corner, so here’s a list of seven things you can do today to rejuvenate and kick-start a new season with energy and light. Remember, you are the sum of each choice you make every day, so empower yourself to make the best ones that lead you to where you want to be.
1. Kick off autumn with renewed discipline in the form of a morning routine.
Start each day with positive energy and a refreshing outlook on what you can do with the day ahead of you.
2. Get inspired.
Look at all of the awesome beauty around you and keep your eyes and ears open for unexpected sources of inspiration. You can always learn something from everyone, so take advantage of each engagement and situation as a growing opportunity. Read books, listen to podcasts, pick someone’s brain to gain inspiration.
3. Re-evaluate your relationships, both romantic and platonic.
Make sure you are spending time and energy on people who matter to you and want the best for you. Reflect on whether you are being a good partner or friend; relationships work two ways. Set healthy boundaries, even if if means eliminating people who are no longer growing you. Change is hard, but ultimately may be exactly what you need.
4. Set goals.
Think about and visualize who you want to be and where in life you want to be in six months, one year, two years, five years, and so on. Don’t be afraid of what you truly want; the first step is knowing and defining what you want.
5. Treat your body right.
Eat nutritious meals that will nourish your body, sleep 7-8 hours each night to rest and recover, and keep active. Your body is yours and you only have one in this life so make sure to give it the proper care and nourishment it needs to carry you through life. Enjoy autumn at its fullest by incorporating seasonal ingredients in your diet, such as cabbage, chard, mushrooms, squash, pumpkin, brussels sprouts, turnips, carrots, and cauliflower
6. Meditate and find your own sense of inner peace that you can carry with you everywhere you go, no matter what life throws your way.
If you have never meditated before, it’s really easy to get started. Just make sure to prioritize your practice by setting aside time to cultivate your inner calm.
7. Treat yourself.
There is nothing like quality self-care and a little pampering every so often can help re-charge you when you are feeling low on energy on inspiration. Go get a massage, take a yoga class, indulge in a nice girls’ brunch; go out and enjoy your life. Feeling good starts from the inside out, but a little help can do wonders.
